The M4 kit is the baby in the baseline range, but don't let its diminutive size fool you!
Engineered to produce a surprising amount of bass from such a small box, the M4 kit also has a smooth midrange thanks to the use of a specially designed 4" mid bass driver and a design that eliminates the use of inductors in the crossover.
But don't just take our word for it, here's what the reviewers at DIYAudio.com had to say about this kit:
"The little 4" two way bookshelf... delivers an impressive amount of bass down to about 50 Hertz. It's real delight, however, was the superb midrange performance and tonal balance. On a wide range of music they performed really well and were very listenable, female vocalists in particular were a treat to listen to. There is no boominess or muddiness in the sound and they would put many commercially available systems costing a lot more to shame."
The M4 efficiency is at the lower end of the spectrum, so does need a little bit of power to run well - you definately can't run it from a PC sound card, for instance. It ideally suits small to medium size rooms for normal listening levels. The applications it suits are:
It's fully magnetically shielded and light enough to be mounted on walls, on top of TVs, or on a more traditional speaker stand. Five of these kits produce superb surround sound with perfect timbre matching and provide a home theatre experience that has to be heard to be believed - when paired with our active subwoofer kit you are guaranteed to upset the neighbours! Dolby Laboratories themselves strongly recommend using five identical speakers as the optimum solution for home theatre.
Construction of the kit is simple and takes around 20 - 30 minutes, no woodworking skills are required and all components come included except for the glue.

The M4 features magnetic speaker grills. It's too hard to explain, so just watch this video.
Please note, pricing is for 1 pair.
Previously, M4s were sold individually but now they are being sold in pairs (just like all the other kits) so the price hasn't doubled, you're getting 2 speakers now. :-)

Note: Suggested amplifier power ratings are nominal only - there are a wide range of factors which affect the performance and suitability of any speaker/amplifier match-up. Damage to speakers is usually caused by an underpowered amp which is clipping due to being driven too hard. Damage to speaker drivers and kit components caused by overdriving the amplifier or the speaker is not covered by warranties. In general, the M4 kits will suit most commonly available Pro-Logic DD/DTS receivers.
